Founded in 2006, CCSS is a group of young professionals in New York City interested in philanthropy who volunteer to help HKI raise awareness and funds. Utilizing their professional talents and personal interests, Council members develop and host unique events, create fundraising initiatives and grow their social and professional networks.

Opportunities:
Young professionals and philanthropists who want to get involved in a charity beyond making a financial contribution have the opportunity through CCSS to work with like-minded individuals and organize and host fun and rewarding fund-raising events and programs. Joining CCSS is a great way to leverage your passions and/or your career; you can give to an incredible cause with an historic legacy while simultaneously meeting and socializing with other young professionals.

Current Projects:

  • Branding Initiative – Marketing materials, press-kits, online branding, etc.
  • Restaurant/Retail Relations – Promotions, sponsorships, donations and catering
  • HKI Merchandise – Design, production, business planning and sales of branded goods
  • Parties & Events – Strategy meetings, mixers, parties and fund-raisers

How can I get involved?
There are three levels of involvement for CCSS volunteers:

  • Members:  Attend monthly Council meetings, lead projects and attend events
  • Affiliates:  Participate in projects and attend events
  • Friends of Helen:  Attend social & fundraising events and tell friends about HKI & CCSS

How much does it cost?
We ask that Members and Affiliates make an annual symbolic donation of $100 to HKI.  Whether it’s with money, time or both, we’re looking for people dedicated to the cause to join CCSS and help us make a difference.

When are meetings?
Council meetings are from 8:00-9:30pm each first Wednesday of the month unless otherwise noted at HKI.  Occasional recruitment  and introduction meetings are scheduled on an ad hoc basis, usually at local restaurants or bars.

Can I bring friends? Who’s involved?
Of course!  We are always looking for more young professionals who want to volunteer and help out this great cause. We currently have members from a variety of backgrounds, including financial services, consulting, healthcare, retail, publishing, media and professional non-profit.
